Job Overview: Lead Administrator – L1
Wipro is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Administrator – L1 to join its Pune office. This critical role involves managing and optimizing platform infrastructure (such as databases, middleware, backup systems, etc.), ensuring seamless operations, implementing architecture designs, and providing technical leadership within the tower.
As a Lead Administrator, you will play a central role in maintaining high system availability, planning future technology capacity, and spearheading initiatives like automation and service improvement. The ideal candidate possesses in-depth technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a track record of managing complex infrastructure environments.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Infrastructure Management
- Lead the architecture design and capacity planning of the platform, middleware, backup, or database environments based on system requirements.
- Oversee installation, configuration, migration, and maintenance projects in the designated tower.
- Conduct disaster recovery planning and ensure comprehensive backup strategies are in place.
- Utilize new features in underlying technologies to optimize platform performance.
- Implement scalable, extensible, and secure systems.
- Create and manage architectural documents, SOPs, data architecture guidelines, and technical operations manuals.
Operational Excellence
- Troubleshoot issues, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement corrective measures to minimize recurrence.
- Drive operational efficiency by tuning performance and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with SLAs and eliminate unauthorized changes.
- Monitor system availability and ensure timely delivery of services for new and existing projects.
- Provide weekly performance and status updates to internal stakeholders and client leadership.
Service Improvement & Automation
- Identify opportunities for automation across recurring processes and contribute to the creation of a Service Improvement Plan (SIP).
- Develop tools and scripts to reduce manual intervention, increase response time, and ensure process standardization.
Team Leadership & People Management
Talent Forecasting & Acquisition
- Forecast talent needs aligned with current and future project demands.
- Lead recruitment efforts, ensure skill alignment, and onboard the right technical talent.
- Train hiring managers to make effective talent acquisition decisions.
Performance & Talent Development
- Establish goals for team members and conduct periodic performance reviews.
- Mentor team members and guide career progression for high-potential employees.
- Ensure 100% onboarding compliance with Wipro’s training standards.
- Lead succession planning and talent mobility strategies.
Engagement & Culture Building
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
- Promote diversity in team composition and leadership roles.
- Encourage innovation and continuous learning.
- Implement employee recognition programs to build morale and motivation.
- Assign enriching and strategic projects to team members to foster growth and satisfaction.
