Current Openings for AEM Backend Development

Cognizant is hiring for the following roles in AEM Backend Development:

  • Senior AEM Architect
  • Senior AEM Developer
  • AEM Developer

These roles are focused on Adobe Experience Manager (version 6.5 and above) and require hands-on expertise in backend development, Adobe Marketing Cloud products, and Java-based frameworks.


1. Senior AEM Architect

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop end-to-end digital experiences using AEM 6.5 and related Adobe tools.
  • Define the architectural framework for enterprise-grade global content platforms.
  • Integrate with Adobe Marketing Cloud products such as Adobe Analytics, Campaign, Target, and Social.
  • Enable advanced features like personalization, content syndication, multilingual support, and automated workflows.
  • Provide architectural direction for large-scale projects with teams of 20+ members.
  • Lead Agile project delivery across multiple streams (Frontend, Backend, QA, and PM).
  • Define development standards, quality gates, security, and performance optimization best practices.
  • Conduct client interactions to gather requirements and propose scalable solutions.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Over 15 years of experience in the IT industry, including more than 8 years specializing in AEM development and solution architecture.
  • In-depth knowledge of AEM 6.5, OSGi, Apache Sling, Apache Oak, and Adobe Dispatcher.
  • Expertise in Java programming, encompassing J2SE, Java EE technologies, Servlets, JSP, JSTL, and custom tag libraries.
  • Familiarity with search engine integrations like Solr, GSA, or Lucene.
  • Extensive experience in integrating with third-party tools like Salesforce, SSO, and LDAP.
  • Exposure to frontend technologies including React, Angular, Bootstrap, Backbone.js, and Handlebars.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure planning: CDN, load balancing, disaster recovery, and scalability.
  • Strong understanding of performance/security testing and SEO optimization.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, SonarQube, and automated testing frameworks.

2. Senior AEM Developer

Job Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on development of templates, components, workflows, and OSGi modules using HTL and JSP.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including system flows and component interaction.
  • Apply best practices for AEM code development, performance, availability, and extensibility.
  • Collaborate with frontend and QA teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Drive technical excellence through mentoring, code reviews, and reuse of design patterns.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 3 to 6 years of overall experience with at least 3 years in AEM development.
  • Proven track record in 4+ AEM projects developing Sling servlets, templates, and components.
  • Strong Java JEE background, with hands-on experience using Maven, Apache Sling, and OSGi.
  • Proficient in using Node & NPM, REST APIs, and AEM workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks and efficient handling of digital assets through Adobe DAM.
  • Experience in JUnit and code coverage tools.

3. AEM Developer

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement AEM templates, reusable components, and OSGi services.
  • Work on Adobe DAM (Digital Asset Management) to manage digital content.
  • Integrate AEM with frontend frameworks and RESTful APIs.
  • Ensure high performance and responsive architecture.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 2 to 3 years of total experience, with 1+ year in AEM 6.5 development.
  • Practical experience working with JSP, HTL, Apache Sling framework, Maven build automation, and OSGi modular development.
  • Participated in at least 2 AEM projects with real-world implementation of templates and workflows.
  • Good knowledge of frontend technologies including advanced JavaScript, CSS3, and HTML5.
