Role Overview:

Genpact invites dynamic and detail-oriented professionals to join its Record to Report (R2R) operations team as a Process Associate. This role is ideal for individuals who have a foundational understanding of general accounting principles and aspire to grow in finance operations within a global organization.

As a Process Associate in the R2R domain, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of accounting and financial activities including journal entries, reconciliations, compliance audits, and monthly closing processes. Key Responsibilities:

1. General Accounting Activities

  • Creation and booking of journal entries with proper accounting treatments.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy and completeness.

2. Fixed Assets and Reconciliations

  • Perform Fixed Assets (FA) reconciliation, including SL-GL matching and FA clearing accounts.
  • Ensure fixed asset capitalization, depreciation, and retirement activities are recorded accurately.

3. Intercompany Transactions

  • Handle intercompany accounting activities such as cross-entity reconciliation and invoice adjustments.
  • Ensure timely resolution of open items and alignment of balances between entities.

4. Bank and Investment Reconciliations

  • Reconcile bank statements and investment accounts to maintain clean ledger balances.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies with relevant stakeholders.

5. Compliance and Reporting

  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing reports, schedules, and documentation.
  • Support corporate reporting by providing accurate data within required deadlines.
  • Ensure SOX compliance across financial reporting tasks and follow internal control frameworks.

6. Escheat and Balance Account Reconciliations

  • Perform escheatment reconciliation and help identify unclaimed properties.
  • Ensure timely resolution of open items in balance accounts.

7. Collaboration and Process Improvement

  • Partner with internal stakeholders including Process Owners and Quality teams.
  • Identify areas for automation or optimization using Lean and Six Sigma principles.

Qualifications Required:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce (Regular Mode Only)
  • Fresh graduates are welcome (CA firm internship or articleship experience not considered)
  • Strong foundational understanding of accounting principles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Record to Report operations within a reputed shared services or captive unit.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Excel including formulas, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and Macros.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, or Workday Financials.
  • Exposure to internal controls, audit readiness, and SOX compliance is an advantage.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
