Position Summary: Technology Architect – L1
Wipro is seeking a Technology Architect – L1 to join its high-performing team in Bengaluru. This is a senior technical leadership role that requires a blend of technical depth, enterprise system design expertise, and stakeholder engagement. The selected candidate will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and overseeing complex IT architecture frameworks, ensuring they align with business goals and technology strategies.
This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with 8–10 years of experience in enterprise networking, system integration, and telecom switching. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience with Layer 2 software, routing protocols, and end-to-end network architecture, coupled with advanced project management and communication capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
As a Technology Architect, your primary responsibility will be to architect scalable, secure, and high-performance IT systems that align with the organization’s business goals. You will also play a pivotal role in mentoring teams, managing multiple project streams, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities Include:

Conduct Needs Assessment: Collaborate with IT leadership to identify current systems’ limitations and future technological requirements.

System Design & Evaluation: Evaluate whether existing systems can be optimized or whether new infrastructure needs to be developed. Deliver innovative architecture plans and detailed schematics.

Project Management: Lead the design, planning, and implementation of technology systems. Track progress, coordinate tasks, and ensure milestones are achieved on time and within budget.

Technical Consultancy: Act as a subject matter expert by consulting with software developers and network engineers to ensure seamless system integration.

Performance Monitoring: Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented systems using benchmarks, diagnostics, and analytics.

Team Collaboration: Liaise with cross-functional teams and business units to ensure alignment between technical architecture and organizational goals.

Training and Support: Provide training sessions for end-users and technical staff to ensure a smooth transition post-deployment.

Post-Implementation Review: Offer feedback to improve system stability and performance. Conduct troubleshooting sessions to resolve unforeseen technical issues.

Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a point of contact for external clients and internal teams on all matters concerning technology architecture.
Mandatory Technical Skills

Telecom Switching Systems – Strong knowledge of telecom switching protocols and routing mechanisms.

Routing Protocols & Network Engineering (NE) – Expertise in designing and maintaining Layer 2 networking software and routing protocols.

Enterprise Systems Integration – Deep understanding of integrating disparate enterprise applications and data systems.

Layer 2 Software Experience – Practical experience in developing or deploying Layer 2 network protocols.
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
Professional Experience:

8–10 years of hands-on experience in a similar role, ideally within large-scale IT infrastructure or telecom environments.

Demonstrated experience as a Technical Architect or Solutions Architect working on enterprise-level technology transformation projects.
Additional Requirements:

Prior experience in designing scalable systems for large enterprises.

Managerial or team-lead experience in handling cross-functional project teams.
Desired Skills and Competencies
Technical Competencies:

Deep knowledge of enterprise IT architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman.
