Role Overview: Group Manager – PTP Transformation

We are looking for a strategic, execution-driven finance transformation leader with deep expertise in Accounts Payable (AP), procurement finance, and shared service environments. This role requires a proven ability to lead process automation, stakeholder engagement, and technology modernization initiatives across large, complex organizations.


Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Finance Transformation:

  • Define and implement a roadmap for end-to-end AP transformation with a focus on scalability, compliance, and cost-efficiency.
  • Re-engineer existing AP processes to unlock value through digital automation, AI, and process optimization.
  • Align process, policy, and technology improvements with business objectives to maximize return on investment.
  • Contribute to proposal development, RFP responses, and solution design during pre-sales and renewal cycles.
  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to continuously improve finance operations.

2. Technology & Automation Leadership:

  • Lead the adoption of intelligent automation tools such as AI-based invoice processing, Optical Character Recognition (OCR), and robotic process automation (RPA).
  • Drive ERP automation and integration with platforms like SAP, Oracle, and Workday.
  • Evaluate new fintech and AP automation solutions that strengthen IBM’s value proposition in the market.
  • Ensure all transformation efforts are future-ready by tracking emerging financial technology trends.

3. Stakeholder & Vendor Management:

  • Partner with senior finance executives, procurement heads, and IT leadership to align transformation goals.
  • Foster collaboration with global finance teams to ensure consistency, compliance, and standardization of AP processes across regions.
  • Oversee vendor engagement and negotiate with financial institutions to streamline payment terms and optimize working capital.

4. Operational Excellence & Compliance:

  • Develop and track KPIs for AP performance, such as processing time, payment accuracy, and vendor satisfaction.
  • Ensure alignment with financial governance frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and internal audits to ensure robust AP controls and prevent fraud.
  • Develop specialized AP service offerings to enhance value delivery and expand client engagement opportunities.

5. Consulting & Change Management:

  • Collaborate with internal and external consulting teams to implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive change management strategy to ensure smooth transitions and minimize operational disruptions throughout the transformation process.
  • Deliver training programs for finance professionals on AP best practices, tools, and technologies.

6. Leadership & Communication:

  • Lead and inspire a team of finance transformation professionals.
  • Offer guidance and professional growth opportunities to emerging talent within the team, fostering skill development and leadership potential.
  • Present insights, performance metrics, and transformation outcomes to executive leadership and client boards.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement across finance operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a comparable field of study is required.
  • Experience:
    • Deep knowledge of AP, PTP, and finance operations within global shared service environments.
    • Proven success in leading digital finance transformation initiatives.
    • Extensive hands-on experience with leading ERP platforms, including SAP, Oracle, and Workday.
    • Strong background in AP automation tools (AI, RPA, OCR technologies).
    • Solid consulting experience including stakeholder management and value proposition development.
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
    • Strong financial acumen and strategic thinking.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree (MBA, CA, or CPA preferred).
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma, financial process optimization, or automation technologies is preferred.
  • Experience with global delivery models and finance transformation in shared services.
  • Agile finance or design thinking experience.
