About Microsoft Security – CSVA Team
The Continuous Security Validation & Assurance (CSVA) team plays a critical role in Microsoft’s broader security mission—to safeguard digital experiences for every person and organization on the planet. CSVA is tasked with assessing and strengthening Microsoft’s cloud platforms, DevOps infrastructure, and AI systems through continuous validation, vulnerability detection, and security tooling.
You’ll work alongside security researchers, software engineers, and cloud architects to proactively identify threats and ensure Microsoft’s services remain enterprise-ready and resilient.

Key Responsibilities
🔐 Security Research & Analysis

Investigate Microsoft’s cloud, AI, and DevOps services for vulnerabilities and security gaps.

Identify new classes of threats or emerging exploits and develop mitigation strategies.

Perform in-depth vulnerability assessment and impact analysis using industry-standard techniques.
🛠 Tool Development & Automation

Create internal tools to automate vulnerability detection and trend analysis across cloud systems.

Build microservices and backend components to scale real-time detection and reporting workflows.

Integrate custom solutions into Microsoft’s CI/CD pipelines and security posture dashboards.
🤝 Collaboration & Leadership

Partner with product engineers, program managers, and security researchers to embed security into the development lifecycle.

Support internal and cross-team on-call rotations for monitoring and incident response.

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of shared learning and improvement.
🌍 Contribution to the Security Community

Share learnings internally across Microsoft and externally through papers, talks, or blogs (where applicable).

Stay updated on modern security models like OAuth, token-based authentication, and zero trust frameworks.

Identify recurring issues and drive proactive remediation strategies.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline

3–8 years of experience in a Security Engineering or Research role

Demonstrated experience with:

Building enterprise-grade cloud security services

Languages like C#, .NET, Java

Secure coding practices and OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities

Hands-on knowledge of:

Software authentication, authorization, encryption models

Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design patterns

Debugging and root cause analysis for live cloud environments

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to work independently and collaborate across global teams
Preferred Qualifications

Cloud security expertise in Microsoft Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP
