Role Overview: Driving Transformation through Techno-Functional Insight

As a Techno Functional Consultant – L1, your core responsibility is to serve as the link between business objectives and technological implementation. You will work on end-to-end ERP solutions, support new business implementations, manage change requests, and provide ongoing product support. Your ability to combine functional understanding with technical expertise will be vital to delivering seamless solutions that align with client needs.

The role also emphasizes continuous learning, process optimization through automation, and active participation in knowledge sharing to build organizational competency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Bridging Business and Technology

Your primary responsibility is to connect the dots between functional requirements and technical capabilities to deliver scalable, optimized ERP solutions. This includes:

  • End-to-End Project Ownership: Lead new ERP implementation projects from requirement gathering through configuration, development, and deployment.

  • Feasibility Analysis: Evaluate the technical feasibility of new business requirements and provide efficient, scalable solutions.

  • System Development: Build new ERP systems from scratch or integrate new features into existing frameworks, ensuring alignment with business goals.

  • Architectural Support: Collaborate with solution architects in design, development, testing, and implementation phases.

  • Customization and Integration: Modify, localize, or extend ERP systems using approved coding standards and tools.

  • Business Process Translation: Interpret business processes into actionable ERP configurations and integrations.

  • Coding and Development: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using Selenium and other tools where required.

  • Production Support: Resolve day-to-day technical and functional issues, ensuring continuous system performance.

  • Automation: Develop automation tools to streamline processes, reduce manual effort, and improve productivity.

  • Client Interaction: Advise clients and internal teams on the best technical and functional solutions, ensuring seamless alignment between user expectations and product capabilities.

  • Change Management: Assist the on-site manager with insights and documentation related to technical changes or project updates.

2. Continuous Learning and Competency Development

Your performance will be measured across three core dimensions:

A. Contribution to Customer Projects

  • Timely delivery of quality solutions.

  • Compliance with SLAs and expected time of arrival (ETA).

  • Effective resolution of tickets and change requests.

  • Maintaining high customer satisfaction and zero escalation record.

B. Process Automation and Optimization

  • Development and deployment of automation tools.

  • Reduction in manual steps and repetitive tasks.

  • Improvement in ticket resolution efficiency through automation.

C. Learning and Development

  • Number of training and certification programs completed.

  • Volume and quality of internal publications.

  • Engagement in learning forums and seminars.

Core Technical Skill: Selenium

Selenium is central to your success in this role. As a Techno Functional Consultant, you are expected to have hands-on experience in:

  • Writing and executing automated test scripts using Selenium.

  • Integration of Selenium testing with ERP modules.

  • Debugging and fixing test failures in complex ERP systems.

  • Ensuring test coverage for functional processes using automation frameworks.

  • Collaborating with QA and development teams to enhance application stability and performance.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree (minimum 15 years of formal education) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Professional Experience: Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in ERP implementations, automation, and Selenium testing.

  • Functional Knowledge: Deep understanding of ERP systems, business process flows, and industry best practices.

  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical ability, client communication skills, team collaboration, and problem-solving capabilities.
