Position Summary: AI Engineer
As an AI Engineer, your primary responsibility is to develop, deploy, and support AI-driven applications, particularly those involving IBM Watson technologies, Generative AI (GenAI), chatbots, and machine learning (ML). You’ll be expected to architect intelligent solutions for conversational use cases, mentor junior developers, and participate in full-stack deployment and integration efforts.
This is a hybrid role requiring both on-site collaboration and remote engagement. It includes working across time zones, depending on customer and project demands.
Core Responsibilities
As a member of IBM’s AI engineering team, you will:
🧠 Develop AI and Conversational Solutions

Build AI/chatbot applications using IBM Watson Assistant, Discovery, Studio, and Watsonx.ai

Customize chatbot workflows and design smart conversational flows aligned with business logic

Implement and optimize Generative AI models for enterprise applications
⚙️ Deploy, Configure, and Maintain Solutions

Install and configure Watson tools and related AI applications

Deploy solutions in hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud)

Conduct performance tuning, security audits, and integrate with third-party tools
📊 Machine Learning Engineering

Design and deploy machine learning models for classification, regression, NLP, and other tasks

Automate data pipelines using ETL tools and integrate AI with backend data platforms
🌍 Client Engagement & Consulting

Act as a trusted AI advisor to IBM clients

Deliver technical demos and solutions in client workshops

Lead solutioning efforts and provide delivery assurance on AI projects
🤝 Collaboration & Mentorship

Work collaboratively across cross-functional teams

Required Qualifications
Candidates should meet the following minimum criteria:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related technical field

Minimum of 10 years overall IT experience, including:

At least 4 years of experience specifically in AI, ML, or chatbot development

Hands-on proficiency with:

Watson Assistant, Watson Discovery, Watson Studio, Watsonx.ai

Python, Java, Shell scripting, and Ansible

ETL workflows and data processing tools

Strong understanding of:

Generative AI frameworks and large language model (LLM) integration

DevOps tools: Docker/Podman, Kubernetes, Jenkins

Linux-based systems (RHEL, CoreOS, Ubuntu) and associated troubleshooting

Preferred Experience
