Your Role and Key Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer, your primary responsibility is to develop robust, scalable, and efficient data pipelines and analytics solutions for diverse industry clients. You will be instrumental in turning raw data into actionable insights, ensuring high data integrity and performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining end-to-end batch and real-time data pipelines.

  • Building future-ready data architectures that support cloud transformation and analytics.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data models and processing solutions.

  • Testing and debugging data workflows to ensure quality and reliability.

  • Leveraging modern ETL tools, data integration technologies, and cloud services to support advanced data processing.

  • Leading junior data engineers and overseeing project deliverables.

Core Skills and Qualifications

Educational Background

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Data Science, Analytics, or a relevant technical discipline.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.

  • Strong expertise in data modeling, business systems design, and data architecture.

  • Experience in leading data transformation projects, especially in enterprise environments.

Technical Proficiencies

  • Proficient in IBM DataStage and other leading ETL tools.

  • Skilled in cloud-based ETL services (e.g., AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, GCP Dataflow).

  • Expert-level knowledge in T-SQL, with the ability to write optimized and maintainable queries.

  • Strong understanding of data warehouse schemas, OLAP techniques, and BI reporting integration.

  • Familiar with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and Kafka (preferred).

  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
