Role Summary: Solution Architect – L1

The Solution Architect – L1 is a strategic leadership role responsible for designing enterprise-scale architectures, leading pre-sales solutioning, enabling delivery teams, and ensuring client satisfaction across engagements. The role also requires an in-depth understanding of Databricks and Data Engineering principles to build high-performance data platforms and analytical solutions.

As a senior member of the architecture team, you will contribute to building Wipro’s thought leadership by mentoring talent, contributing to internal competency development, and driving innovation through reusable patterns and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

🔷 1. Enterprise Architecture & Solution Design

• Lead the design of enterprise-wide architectural solutions that align with client needs, business goals, and technical environments.

• Architect high-level and detailed solutions for RFPs, transformation projects, and new technology implementations.

• Design scalable, secure, and resilient systems across cloud, data, application, and infrastructure domains.

• Collaborate with business analysts, technical leads, and product owners to define solution blueprints and architectural roadmaps.

• Identify and document architectural risks, trade-offs, and mitigation plans.

• Deliver documentation including architecture diagrams, integration flows, infrastructure specifications, and deployment strategies.

🔷 2. Data Engineering Leadership (Databricks Focus)

• Design and implement data engineering frameworks using Databricks and Spark-based platforms.

• Guide the team in setting up robust ETL pipelines, data lake architectures, and data processing flows.

• Ensure performance optimization, data security, lineage tracking, and pipeline orchestration.

• Integrate Databricks with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP to enable scalable data solutions.

• Validate prototypes, conduct proof-of-concepts (POCs), and recommend next-generation tools for big data analytics.

• Actively contribute to pre-sales activities by solutioning client requirements, responding to RFPs, and presenting proposals.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to CXOs by providing expert guidance on digital and data strategy.

• Provide delivery teams with design assurance, architectural reviews, and troubleshooting guidance.

• Establish KPIs, performance metrics, and architecture standards for solution delivery.

• Identify risks in solution implementation and formulate effective mitigation strategies.

• Support post-implementation architecture refinement based on performance feedback.

• Recommend reusable components, frameworks, and automation tools to increase delivery efficiency.

• Represent Wipro at external forums, industry conferences, and analyst briefings to build brand authority.

• Lead internal knowledge-sharing sessions, webinars, and architectural councils.

• Mentor and upskill junior architects, developers, and data engineers to enhance practice capability.

• Hire and onboard top-tier architectural and engineering talent.

Required Skills & Qualifications

✅ Technical Expertise

• Mandatory: Advanced proficiency in Databricks – Data Engineering and Spark ecosystems.

• Deep understanding of architectural patterns including microservices, serverless, event-driven, and layered architectures.

• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with enterprise integration patterns, API management, and messaging systems like Kafka.
