Overview

Cognizant is inviting accomplished professionals to apply for the strategic role of Delivery Leader in the US Healthcare (Provider Revenue Cycle Management – RCM) domain. This leadership position is tailored for professionals who are passionate about delivering operational excellence, driving business growth, and leading high-performance teams in a global, fast-paced healthcare environment.

As the Delivery Leader, you will be accountable for overseeing large-scale, multi-geographic US healthcare operations, ensuring client satisfaction, meeting financial objectives, and contributing to Cognizant’s Digital First transformation journey. This role combines strategic planning, people leadership, client engagement, and financial acumen to drive long-term success.


Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership and Business Performance

  • Lead end-to-end delivery operations for the Provider RCM vertical across geographies, managing performance, profitability, and client engagement.
  • Develop and implement both immediate and future-focused plans to meet financial goals and optimize operational performance.
  • Drive digital transformation by embedding next-gen digital solutions in client engagements.

2. Revenue and Profitability Management

  • Own the revenue outcomes for existing client portfolios while enhancing operational margins through cost optimization.
  • Ensure predictable, scalable, and efficient service delivery aligned with client SLAs and Cognizant’s performance benchmarks.

3. Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the strategic advisor to clients by understanding their critical business needs and providing bespoke consultative solutions.
  • Foster strong, enduring client relationships, promoting premier customer service and growth-oriented partnerships.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for account expansion and service improvement.

4. Operational Excellence

  • Champion continuous process improvements and implement industry best practices to enhance service quality and efficiency.
  • Lead governance frameworks that ensure operational predictability, compliance, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with Business Transformation teams to co-create innovative solutions tailored to the Provider RCM domain.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with support functions and shared services to ensure unified execution of delivery strategies.
  • Leverage internal synergies to enhance productivity and streamline operations across various business units.
  • Contribute to pre-sales and post-sales activities including client meetings, solution presentations, and deal structuring.

6. Risk and Compliance Oversight

  • Proactively identify operational risks and coordinate mitigation strategies in collaboration with Legal, HR, and Compliance teams.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines, internal policies, and industry standards in all aspects of service delivery.

7. Talent Management and Employee Engagement

  • Attract, develop, and retain top talent by creating a culture of trust, performance, and continuous learning.
  • Support talent acquisition strategies, performance management, and career development frameworks to ensure high employee satisfaction and low attrition.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Industry and Leadership Experience:

  • Minimum of 18 years of professional experience in US healthcare operations, with at least 5 years in an account or portfolio leadership role within Provider RCM.
  • Proven ability to manage large global teams and healthcare delivery portfolios across diverse geographies.
  • Experience handling Profit & Loss responsibilities for a portfolio exceeding $10 million.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading operations with over 1,000 full-time employees across global delivery centers.

Preferred Background:

  • Strong track record in delivering outcomes that drive client satisfaction and operational growth.
  • Expertise in transforming business models and implementing strategic solutions in a healthcare environment.
  • Prior leadership roles involving large-scale RCM projects and digital process transformations.

  • In-depth understanding of claims processing, coding, medical billing, accounts receivable, and payer-provider interactions.

Financial and Commercial Acumen:

  • Skilled in managing financial planning, optimizing expenditures, and enhancing operational profitability.
  • Capable of assessing potential investments and leveraging analytics to inform strategic financial choices.
  • Familiarity with commercial strategy including qualification of new opportunities, client proposals, and service delivery costing.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Skilled in managing internal and external relationships to align stakeholders with business objectives.
  • Capable of identifying cross-sell/up-sell opportunities and driving account growth.
