Role Overview: Digital AI Manager – Personal Care (B&W)

As the Digital AI Manager, your role will be instrumental in executing digital transformation initiatives across procurement for the Beauty & Wellbeing (B&W) business unit. You will be a key player in the adoption and upskilling strategy, enhancing the use of AI-powered tools and services across teams.

This is an implementation-focused role where your core responsibility is to ensure successful integration of digital solutions, drive internal capability building, and act as a project management lead for Unilever’s flagship Procurement GPT initiative.

Key Objectives:

  • Drive digital adoption across procurement teams.

  • Lead data-driven initiatives to streamline sourcing processes.

  • Collaborate with innovation teams to scale AI-enabled use cases.

  • Implement training and upskilling programs to foster a digital-first mindset.


Responsibilities: What You’ll Be Driving

🔹 Executing the 4D Lighthouse Digital Strategy

You will be at the forefront of implementing Unilever’s 4D strategy across the B&W division. The strategy includes four key focus areas:

1. Data Foundation Development

  • Integrate internal datasets from Unilever Data Lake and Business Data Lake.

  • Connect with external data sources such as market intelligence platforms, resilience trackers, sustainability reports, and public databases.

  • Build a robust Procurement Data Catalogue with an emphasis on data accuracy, completeness, and real-time availability.

2. Advanced Analytics & Insight Services

  • Support the creation of Analytics-as-a-Service platforms under the A&I Hub.

  • Develop scalable self-service analytics and visualization tools for sourcing teams.

  • Translate raw data into actionable insights to empower faster and better business decisions.

3. Optimizing the 7-Step Strategic Sourcing Model

  • Enhance Buyers Console – the central platform that integrates data, tools, and dashboards for end-to-end sourcing.

  • Improve automation levels, visibility, and compliance in procurement workflows.

  • Drive user experience enhancements for both buyers and suppliers.

4. Digital Culture Building & Capability Upskilling

  • Lead user adoption campaigns and track Net Promoter Scores (NPS) to gauge engagement.

  • Conduct structured digital upskilling programs like DigiCon.

  • Foster a forward-looking, digital-savvy procurement culture by building future-ready talent.


Special Involvement: Procurement GPT Program

Though primarily focused on implementation and enablement, the Digital AI Manager will collaborate closely with the Data & AI Innovation Team to scale Unilever’s proprietary Procurement GPT platform.

Your role will involve:

  • Acting as PMO for Procurement GPT Hero Use Cases.

  • Supporting pilots, testing, and rollout of new GPT-enabled applications.

  • Ensuring seamless handover from innovation to deployment phase across teams.


Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate for Success

This position demands strong stakeholder management skills. You will regularly collaborate with:

  • UPLT (Unilever Procurement Leadership Team)

  • Head of Strategy & Insights

  • Buyers’ Community & BG Procurement Leaders

  • UniOps and Data Engineering Teams

  • External Partners & Technology Vendors

Proven communication, relationship-building, and cross-functional leadership will be essential to succeed in this high-impact role.
