Unilever is hiring a Product Design & Development Project Lead for its Lifestyle Nutrition (LSN) division in Bengaluru, India. 🔍 Job Purpose:
The role focuses on end-to-end product and process development, including:

Advanced formulation of LSN products (e.g., biscuits, powders, health drinks, RTDs)

Scientific and technical validation of ingredients and processes
-
Collaborative innovation with internal teams and external vendors
You’ll develop innovative formulations, lead pilot and commercial scale trials, and ensure product stability, sensory acceptability, and manufacturability—delivering world-class nutrition solutions.
💡 Key Responsibilities:
✅ Product & Process Innovation:
-
Lead R&D projects from lab scale to commercial rollout

Investigate ingredient functionality, interactions, and shelf-life behavior
-
Develop novel nutritional formats using processes like baking, UHT, drying, blending, and extrusion
-
Perform feasibility analysis, technical risk assessments, and data-backed product evaluations
✅ Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner with Medical Affairs, Analytical, Regulatory, Packaging, and Supply Chain teams
-
Represent R&D in NPD project reviews and innovation discussions

Identify and liaise with scientific institutions, technology suppliers, and vendors
✅ Technical & Quality Documentation:

Maintain comprehensive records as per GMP, GLP, and FSSAI standards
-
Work within SAP/PLM, safety systems, and digital R&D platforms
-
Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation to support product launch, audits, and IP filings
✅ Continuous Learning & Networking:

Stay updated on global trends in nutrition science, delivery systems, and ingredient innovation

Attend conferences, vendor meets, and maintain a strong external scientific network
🎓 Eligibility Criteria:
Education:
-
M.Sc./M.Tech/Ph.D. in Food Science, Nutrition, Dairy Science, Bakery Science, or a related discipline
-
Ph.D. preferred for roles involving higher technical complexity
Experience:

8+ years (with Master’s) or 6+ years (with Ph.D.)

Strong hands-on exposure to product development in biscuits, RTDs, health food drinks, powders, or similar categories
