💼 About the Role: Senior AI Application Engineer – SuccessFactors

In this role, you will design, build, and optimize AI-driven applications using large language models (LLMs), agentic AI, and other intelligent systems. Your contributions will be central to the ongoing rollout and enhancement of Joule in SuccessFactors, which launched in November 2024 and is now scaling globally.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, interpret business challenges, and translate them into intelligent technical solutions. Whether you are fine-tuning a generative model, optimizing a prompt, or engineering data pipelines for scalable deployment—you’ll be at the forefront of enterprise AI innovation.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

As a Senior AI Application Engineer at SAP, your core duties will span the entire AI development lifecycle, from model ideation and training to integration and support.

🔧 Role Scope Includes:

✅ 1. AI Application Development

• Lead the end-to-end design and development of AI-powered applications within SuccessFactors.

• Build features using machine learning (ML) and deep learning techniques to address real-world HXM use cases.

• Architect multi-modal solutions using LLMs (e.g., GPT, LLaMA) for generative tasks, chatbots, and contextual recommendations.

✅ 2. Prompt Engineering and Model Training

• Develop and fine-tune prompts for generative tasks ensuring accuracy, tone, and domain relevance.

• Leverage advanced prompt chaining and tuning techniques to optimize results.

• Collaborate with AI researchers and product managers to train and deploy models aligned with business needs.

✅ 3. AI Agent & LLM Integration

• Integrate AI agents and LLMs into cloud-native environments.

• Use AI tools to enable contextual awareness, task delegation, and decision support in HXM applications.

• Drive innovation through agentic AI frameworks, knowledge graphs, and data enrichment systems.

✅ 4. Optimization and Testing

• Conduct rigorous performance testing, error handling, and quality assurance of AI applications.

• Identify and resolve bottlenecks, latency issues, or hallucinations in AI outputs.

• Continuously improve model accuracy and inference speed through iterative tuning.

• Oversee data ingestion, cleaning, transformation, and preprocessing pipelines.
