💼 What Is SAP Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS)?

The Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS) unit is part of SAP’s Product Engineering board area. ECS supports SAP’s private cloud customers by delivering infrastructure, managed services, and technical guidance. The focus lies in ensuring smooth transitions to the SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud platform and delivering high performance, reliability, and value.


🎯 Your Role: Technical Services Manager (TSM) – BASIS

As a Technical Services Manager, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor and the single point of contact for all BASIS-related technical matters in a customer’s SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud journey. Your contribution will directly impact SAP’s global cloud transformation goals by supporting clients through seamless migrations, operations, and innovations.


Key Responsibilities

As a TSM at SAP, your role encompasses several critical areas:

  • Primary Technical Contact: Act as the first point of contact for all customer-related technical issues, service requests, and incidents.

  • Customer Advocacy: Understand customer business processes, goals, and pain points to suggest tailored SAP solutions.

  • SAP Architecture Expertise: Offer deep insights into SAP S/4HANA architecture, migration paths, and related tools.

  • High Availability & DR Design: Guide customers in designing high-availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions within SAP environments.

  • Technical Escalation Management: De-escalate critical technical situations by acting as a resolution point and coordinating SAP internal teams.

  • SAP Landscape Optimization: Design optimized configurations that improve system stability, scalability, and performance.

  • Service Planning: Identify top issues, develop proactive service plans, and oversee the implementation of technical tasks.

  • Innovation Enablement: Advise clients on the adoption of innovative SAP tools and technologies that align with their digital goals.


🧠 Required Skills & Experience

To thrive in this role, the ideal candidate must bring the following expertise:

📌 Technical Skills:

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in SAP Basis administration and operations.

  • Deep knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA, Sybase, and various Unix/Linux platforms.

  • Expertise in network virtualization, disaster recovery, high availability systems, and load balancer configurations.

  • Hands-on experience in SAP implementation (at least 2 projects) and AMS support (at least 2 projects).

  • Awareness of SAP’s latest cloud offerings, migration methodologies, and tools.

📌 Soft Skills & Leadership:

  • At least 5+ years in customer-facing roles, preferably with experience managing technical escalations.

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex SAP environments.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially in English (mandatory).

  • Calm under pressure, with demonstrated success in managing high-impact issues.

📌 Certifications (Preferred but not Mandatory):

  • SAP Certified Technology Associate or equivalent SAP certifications.

  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP) are highly desirable.
