The role focuses on Annual Credit Review (ACR) for large and mid-sized financial institutional groups (FIG) and corporate banking clients. The position involves preparing detailed credit appraisal reports, conducting credit assessments, and reviewing clients’ financial health to support decision-making in loan and risk evaluation processes. Candidates are expected to have direct exposure to credit underwriting (not credit operations) and be well-versed in working with structured credit rating methodologies.


🎓 Qualifications & Certifications Required

Candidates must possess a robust academic foundation in finance or a related domain. The following qualifications are essential:

  • Master’s degree in Commerce (M.Com) or MBA (Finance)

  • Professional certifications such as:

    • Chartered Accountant (CA)

    • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Candidates holding any of the above certifications will have a distinct advantage, especially those with analytical proficiency and a deep understanding of credit markets and regulatory frameworks.


💼 Experience Required

Applicants should have a minimum of 4 years of direct and relevant experience in the following areas:

  • Credit Underwriting: In-depth experience in evaluating credit proposals, assessing creditworthiness, and preparing recommendation-based credit reports for corporate and institutional clients.

  • Credit Rating Agencies: Familiarity with frameworks used by agencies like ICRA, CRISIL, or similar.

  • Credit Appraisal & Rating: Proven ability to analyze financial statements and risk factors to determine credit ratings and make informed recommendations.

  • Corporate Banking or Financial Institutions Group (FIG): Candidates must have experience in dealing with mid to large FIGs. Experience with retail banking clients will not be considered.

  • Credit Decisioning: Having prior approval authority in credit decisioning or having worked in a decision-making capacity is an added advantage.

  • Lending-Based Ratings: Practical experience with rating methodologies tied to lending products is crucial for this role.


🧩 Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Associate, you will be a part of a team responsible for conducting comprehensive annual credit reviews for high-value clients. The responsibilities include:

  • Preparing detailed Annual Credit Review (ACR) reports with an in-depth understanding of client operations, industry dynamics, and creditworthiness.

  • Engaging in credit underwriting activities by analyzing historical financials, forecasting financial risk, and validating loan exposure limits.

  • Utilizing credit rating frameworks (internal/external) to arrive at a risk rating and provide recommendations to senior credit committees.

  • Collaborating with Relationship Managers and Risk Managers to ensure alignment of credit strategies and risk appetite.

  • Monitoring portfolio performance, identifying early warning signals, and suggesting proactive strategies for risk mitigation.

  • Collaborating extensively with international stakeholders across multiple regions, with a strong focus on adhering to UK financial standards and practices.
