Genpact invites applications for the position of Management Trainee – Source to Pay in Hyderabad. As a Management Trainee, you will support various sourcing projects, manage stakeholder relationships, and help drive cost savings, innovation, and process optimization.
Role Overview: Management Trainee – Source to Pay
The Management Trainee will work as an integral part of the Source to Pay (S2P) team, assisting in the execution of sourcing projects to meet annual savings targets. This role will focus on driving efficiencies and cost savings for the client’s business while managing various sourcing activities and ensuring that the purchase of goods and services is performed in line with business objectives and contractual requirements.
You will be responsible for executing sourcing strategies across multiple categories, engaging with internal stakeholders, managing supplier relationships, and contributing to the overall success of the S2P function. Additionally, this role offers an opportunity to work on procurement projects globally or locally, using various levers to optimize costs and mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities

Sourcing of Indirect Spend Categories:

Work on sourcing projects with spend ranges up to $5 million, managing categories like IT, Marketing, HR Services, and Facilities Management.

Draft and negotiate contracts, prepare proposals, statements of work (SOWs), and quotations.

Manage the full sourcing lifecycle, including supplier evaluation, selection, and contract negotiation.

Supplier Management:

Develop, evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure optimal performance and compliance with contract terms.

Lead supplier negotiations and resolve quality problems quickly and efficiently to maintain business continuity.

Project Execution and Delivery:

Assist in the execution of eSourcing initiatives and lead e-Auctions to generate incremental business value.

Ensure sourcing projects are completed on time and within budget, meeting defined contractual SLAs and savings targets.

Regularly track and report on project progress and provide insights into market trends, pricing, and supplier performance.

Engagement with Internal Stakeholders:

Collaborate with business operations, procurement, and supply chain managers to understand business requirements and deliver customized sourcing strategies.

Help educate internal stakeholders about procurement processes and ensure smooth execution of sourcing plans.

Data Analysis and Market Research:

Perform spend analysis and market research to identify the best available prices and supplier options for ongoing projects.

Review commercial contracts to ensure they minimize risk and deliver competitive advantages.

Reporting and Documentation:

Support procurement teams in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other documentation related to sourcing projects.

Ensure that all reports are accurate and delivered within specified timeframes.

Communication and Relationship Building:

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to ensure alignment across all parties involved.

Qualifications and Skills
Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional qualification in Business Management, Procurement, Supply Chain, or related fields.

Experience: Proven experience in procurement and sourcing projects, demonstrating a consistent track record of successfully managing sourcing activities.

Languages: Proficiency in English (additional languages are a plus).

Technical Skills: Familiarity with ERP and procurement systems (e.g., Oracle Fusion, Emptoris, Archer), and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Project Management: Ability to support multiple end-to-end sourcing projects simultaneously, ensuring high-quality outcomes and timely delivery.

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence key stakeholders and suppliers.

Category Experience: Prior experience in sourcing categories such as IT (Software, Hardware, Networks & Infrastructure), Marketing, HR Services, and Facilities Management.

Supplier Management Experience: Experience managing supplier relationships, conducting supplier evaluations, and ensuring contract compliance.

Negotiation Skills: Expertise in leading supplier negotiations and driving cost-effective agreements.
