Role Overview: Package Consultant – Salesforce

As a Salesforce Developer/Consultant, you’ll play a pivotal role in architecting, implementing, and optimizing Salesforce-based solutions. Based at IBM’s Client Innovation Center in Mysore, you will play a key role in crafting scalable Salesforce solutions, streamlining system integrations, and delivering a smooth and efficient user experience.  You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams from different geographies, contributing across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) in an agile setting.

Business Unit: IBM Consulting – Client Innovation Centers (CIC)

Key Responsibilities

• Develop high-performance Salesforce applications using Lightning Web Components (LWC), Apex classes, triggers, and batch jobs.
• Implement and optimize Salesforce automation features including Flows, Process Builder, and declarative tools.
• Integrate Salesforce with internal and third-party systems using REST/SOAP APIs and middleware.
• Convert business needs into precise technical blueprints while maintaining data accuracy and delivering high system performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to define system requirements.
• Enforce Salesforce security best practices including profiles, roles, permission sets, and sharing rules.
• Prepare technical documentation, test scripts, and conduct unit/integration testing.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and code reviews.

Required Qualifications & Expertise

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (mandatory)
• Master’s Degree (preferred)

Technical Proficiency:

• At least five years of practical experience in Salesforce development, demonstrating deep technical proficiency and successful project execution.
• Deep expertise in Lightning Web Components (LWC), JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Strong command over Apex development, including triggers, classes, batch processing, and exception handling.
• Solid understanding of Salesforce’s data model, security architecture, and declarative tools.
• Proficiency in Salesforce REST/SOAP API integrations.
• Familiarity with deployment tools like Change Sets, Ant Migration Tool, or SFDX CLI.

Preferred Experience:

• Hands-on experience working with Aura Components and transitioning legacy components into modern LWC-based architectures.
• Experience with Salesforce Experience Cloud (Communities).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines in Salesforce development environments.
