Role Overview
As a Learning Experience Designer, your primary responsibility will be to create exceptional learning interventions using digital tools and instructional design methodologies. You will collaborate with business stakeholders, SMEs (Subject Matter Experts), and program managers to assess learning needs and deliver high-impact solutions through modalities such as instructor-led sessions, simulations, eLearning courses, and blended learning experiences.
Your responsibilities will be guided by adult learning principles and cognitive science, with a focus on enhancing learner engagement, improving knowledge retention, and driving sustained performance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders, SMEs, and stakeholders to identify skill gaps and design solutions aligned with business goals.
- Define clear learning objectives and measurable outcomes.
- Develop engaging learning content including simulations, case studies, interactive eLearning, and video-based learning.
- Create materials such as performance objectives, assessments, audio scripts, knowledge checks, glossaries, and evaluations.
- Use tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign for design and development.
- Write and structure learning content based on interviews and research with stakeholders.
- Apply a data-driven approach to revise and optimize learning content based on learner feedback and training effectiveness metrics (ROI).
- Manage digital assets in SharePoint or content management systems.
- Upload and maintain learning content on the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Collaborate with third-party vendors when required to oversee deliverables and quality of content development.
A Day in the Life
A typical day in this role will involve collaborating with multiple teams including Operations, Business, and Program & Training Delivery. You’ll follow a standardized job-analysis framework to identify training needs and build structured learning paths for investigators and associates throughout their professional lifecycle.
You’ll work hands-on with eLearning tools and contribute to instructor-led sessions by designing activities, storyboards, and multimedia content. Throughout the content development lifecycle, you’ll ensure alignment with adult learning theories, incorporate learner feedback, and iterate on the learning experience using data and performance results.

About the LXD Team
The Learning Experience Design (LXD) team consists of Learning Experience Designers, technologists, and instructional experts dedicated to creating scalable and engaging learning environments. The team delivers self-paced eLearning and instructor-led training, ensuring that every Amazonian receives a personalized and effective learning experience.
Basic Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following minimum qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in instructional design or learning experience design.
- Demonstrated expertise in using tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
- Experience in prototyping, visual storytelling, or graphic design.
- A publicly available online portfolio showcasing instructional design or learning projects.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the basic qualifications, the following are preferred:
- Deep understanding of user-centered design, adult learning principles, and e-learning standards (SCORM, xAPI).
- Familiarity with web-based architecture and responsive design for mobile-friendly learning.
