As a Test Engineer – L4, you will be responsible for designing and executing test plans to ensure that the software meets quality and reliability standards before it is deployed to clients. Your role will involve both manual and automated testing, contributing directly to the success of product releases.

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to create and execute comprehensive test cases to validate product functionality, performance, and user experience. The Test Engineer ensures that software meets 100% quality assurance criteria before deployment, contributing to a seamless user experience and robust system performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Requirement Analysis and Test Planning

• Understand product requirements, business logic, and testing scope.

• Design robust test strategies and test cases based on functional and non-functional requirements.

• Collaborate with stakeholders, including business analysts and developers, to clarify expectations and reduce defects early in the lifecycle.

2. Test Case Design and Automation

• Create test cases using Model-Based Testing and adhere to Wipro’s standardized testing methodologies.

• Ensure test cases are peer-reviewed to reduce rework and improve effectiveness.

• Design and maintain automated test frameworks using VB macros, GUI automation tools, and test schedulers.

3. Test Execution and Reporting

• Execute manual and automated test cases across environments to validate software functionality and performance.

• Record, analyze, and report defects with comprehensive documentation, including replication steps and screenshots.

• Provide regular test execution reports and dashboards to stakeholders, ensuring transparency in testing progress.

4. Quality Assurance and Defect Management

• Detect and report bugs accurately, ensuring they are well-documented and reproducible.

• Track and manage defects using test management tools and ensure they are resolved within defined SLAs.

• Ensure there is no slippage in quality or missed deliverables during software deployments.

5. Continuous Improvement and Feedback Loop

• Offer feedback to developers and designers on usability and serviceability.

• Participate in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) with clients to validate real-world usability.

• Recommend improvements in testing procedures and frameworks based on lessons learned.

Technical Competencies

• Manual Testing and Automation Testing expertise

Education

Experience
