In this hybrid role, you will resolve complex security issues, strengthen compliance enforcement, and support Microsoft’s most critical cloud protection tools.

Within CE&S, the Customer Service & Support (CSS) team builds trust by delivering seamless, AI-powered support. Whether it’s guiding enterprises through product usage, resolving critical incidents, or ensuring security compliance, CSS helps customers maximize their Microsoft investment.
Role Purpose
As a Security and Compliance Support Engineer, you will own and resolve complex customer cases involving Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Exchange Online, Microsoft Purview, and Azure Active Directory. You will advise clients on advanced security configurations, troubleshoot email protection mechanisms, and help identify security vulnerabilities that need product-level improvements.
This role gives you a unique opportunity to work with Microsoft’s cybersecurity products, contribute to engineering feedback loops, and elevate the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
🔐 Security & Compliance Troubleshooting

Own escalated support cases involving Defender for Office 365, including spam filters, phishing protection, and Safe Links/Safe Attachments.

Troubleshoot Exchange Online security controls, compliance labels, audit logs, and data loss prevention (DLP) policies.

Collaborate across engineering and escalation teams to resolve technically complex issues for enterprise customers.
🌐 Cloud Security Expertise

Work with Azure Active Directory administration and Microsoft Purview (Compliance Manager, eDiscovery, Retention Policies).

Assist clients with hybrid scenarios integrating Microsoft 365 with on-prem environments.

Identify and escalate emerging issues, bugs, or product gaps to Microsoft Engineering teams.
🧠 Knowledge Sharing & Community Building

Lead technical coaching sessions, participate in peer training programs, and mentor new team members.

Share insights through knowledge base articles and internal documentation to scale expertise across teams.

Build communities with peer delivery roles and take part in cross-functional efforts.
⚙ Product Improvement & Automation

Provide diagnostic data and use case scenarios to drive product enhancements in collaboration with Supportability and Engineering teams.

Recommend or contribute to automation tools and scripts that improve case resolution time and reduce manual effort.
Qualifications
✅ Education & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent technical field
OR
3–5 years of experience in technical support or cybersecurity-related roles
✅ Technical Skills
-
3+ years supporting Exchange Online, email filtering, labels, compliance policies, or audit log management
-
1+ year experience in Microsoft Defender for Office 365 (or equivalent cloud security tools)

1+ year exposure to Azure AD, Microsoft Purview, or Microsoft 365 governance features
-
Experience analyzing email hygiene, anti-phishing, Safe Links, malware protection, and quarantine policies
-
Familiarity with network traces, PowerShell scripting, and compliance tools
