Are you a senior IT professional with a passion for cloud architecture and identity solutions? Cognizant is seeking a seasoned Cloud Architect with 16–20 years of experience in Microsoft technologies to help lead innovative identity and access management initiatives. This full-time, hybrid role is ideal for professionals who are well-versed in Active Directory, Microsoft PIM/PAM, Entra ID, and M365 IDaaS, and eager to drive secure, scalable, and integrated identity systems across enterprise environments.
Position Summary
As a Cloud Architect at Cognizant, you will design and implement end-to-end identity and access management (IAM) solutions that enhance operational efficiency and data security. With a core focus on Microsoft PIM/PAM, Active Directory, and cloud-based identity frameworks, you will collaborate across teams to architect reliable, compliant, and seamless IAM integrations.
This hybrid role provides the convenience of working remotely while allowing for in-person collaboration when required. It operates on standard day shifts and does not require travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and lead the deployment of Active Directory solutions to support secure and scalable enterprise environments.
- Design, implement, and oversee Microsoft Privileged Identity Management (PIM/PAM) and Entra ID solutions to ensure secure, role-based access controls and compliance.
- Oversee the implementation of Microsoft 365 IDaaS solutions for identity federation and cloud access management.
- Administer and maintain Active Directory environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and resilience.
- Design and support Microsoft Certificate Management solutions to enforce strong authentication and encryption.
- Work closely with infrastructure, security, and operations teams to ensure identity architecture aligns seamlessly with organizational goals and strategic initiatives.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for IAM processes, standards, and architectural decisions.
- Conduct regular IAM audits and compliance checks, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues involving identity systems and access configurations to maintain seamless authentication and authorization services.
- Establish and enforce best practices for identity provisioning, lifecycle management, and directory services.
- Continuously monitor IAM system health and performance metrics to ensure optimal operation.
- Provide technical training and mentorship to IT staff regarding IAM tools and practices.
- Stay current on Microsoft security technologies and evolving IAM trends to inform architecture improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience (16–20 years) in IT architecture, with proven expertise in Microsoft-based identity management solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Active Directory design, administration, and troubleshooting.
- Advanced expertise in deploying and administering Microsoft PIM/PAM, Entra ID, and M365 IDaaS platforms to support secure identity and access strategies.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Certificate Management, including PKI implementations.
- Familiarity with ADFS (Active Directory Federation Services).
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex technical challenges and provide effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with the capability to simplify complex technical information for non-technical audiences, fostering clear understanding and effective collaboration.
- Experience working in a hybrid work model, balancing remote and on-site collaboration.
- Proven track record of delivering IAM solutions in mid to large-scale enterprise environments.
Certifications Required
- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate
