Role Summary

As part of the Infosys consulting team, you will be responsible for driving and managing consulting engagements with clients. Your tasks will span from problem definition to solution design, test automation, deployment, and post-delivery validation. You will provide actionable insights into the latest wireless trends and support innovation through technology-based solutions.


Key Responsibilities

1. Client Engagement and Delivery

  • Lead the delivery of high-impact consulting and technical testing solutions.
  • Manage client interactions across phases: requirement analysis, testing strategy formulation, and solution deployment.
  • Assist in the identification and diagnosis of client issues related to wireless networks.

2. Wireless Technology and WiFi Testing

  • Execute WiFi performance and reliability testing across various enterprise and embedded platforms.
  • Work with Cisco WLAN controllers, access points, and test access scenarios under different user environments.
  • Understand wireless communication protocols and simulate real-world WiFi conditions to assess performance.

3. Test Automation and SDLC Compliance

  • Design and maintain automated test cases in line with project requirements.
  • Support agile testing processes including test planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Work in accordance with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

4. Cross-Industry and Technical Strategy

  • Demonstrate strong business acumen and domain knowledge across two or more industries.
  • Help formulate network test strategies that align with client business goals.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies in wireless and network testing.

Additional Responsibilities

1. Configuration Management

  • Contribute to version control, environment setup, and software configuration tools to ensure continuous integration and smooth testing cycles.

2. Project and Team Coordination

  • Support project management functions by estimating efforts, tracking project timelines, and mentoring junior testers.
  • Collaborate across functional teams for solution architecture, quality assurance, and network simulation planning.

3. Process Testing and Validation

  • Execute manual and automated testing for WiFi routers, access points, mesh networking systems, and embedded wireless devices.
  • Validate firmware upgrades, interoperability, roaming behavior, throughput, and latency metrics.

4. Client Communication and Documentation

  • Interface with clients to explain test results, bug findings, and suggested network optimizations.
  • Prepare comprehensive test reports and contribute to documentation for compliance and audit purposes.

Technical and Professional Requirements

Candidates must have hands-on experience or strong understanding of the following areas:

Core Skills:

  • WiFi Testing – coverage analysis, performance benchmarking, load testing
  • Cisco WLAN Controllers – configuration, monitoring, and testing
  • Test Automation Frameworks – scripting, integration, and regression testing
  • Wireless Networking Protocols – IEEE 802.11 standards, channel utilization, interference testing
  • SDLC and Agile – familiar with sprint-based delivery and DevOps principles

  • Embedded Wireless Device Testing
  • Signal strength mapping and spectrum analysis tools
  • Use of testing hardware and software (e.g., iPerf, Wireshark, Ekahau)
