Role Summary

As an Enterprise Network SME at Infosys, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the design, implementation, and lifecycle support of large-scale WAN/LAN infrastructures. Your core responsibilities will include translating business requirements into network architecture, managing client expectations, handling service levels, and leading teams to deliver enterprise-grade networking solutions.


Key Responsibilities

1. Project Delivery and Design Leadership

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to capture detailed system and network requirements.
  • Translate customer expectations into High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation.
  • Oversee end-to-end design, development, and validation of enterprise networks.
  • Ensure all deployments meet performance, scalability, and availability requirements.

2. Enterprise Network Design and Implementation

  • Lead WAN and LAN design and consulting engagements for enterprise clients.
  • Work with equipment and solutions from major vendors like Cisco, Aruba (HPE), Juniper, Dell, and others.
  • Manage data center (DC) and campus network infrastructure.
  • Coordinate implementation efforts with internal and external teams.

3. HLD and LLD Documentation

  • Create detailed High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents for new network rollouts and upgrades.
  • Review and update design artifacts and ensure alignment with architectural standards.
  • Maintain architectural documentation as part of the overall service delivery process.

4. Client Engagement and Due Diligence

  • Participate in client discovery sessions, due diligence efforts, and solution walkthroughs.
  • Gather business and technical information to support customized network designs.
  • Lead technical discussions, present designs, and recommend the best-fit technology stack.

5. Network Assessment and Gap Analysis

  • Conduct network audits and identify vulnerabilities, inefficiencies, or misconfigurations.
  • Provide strategic recommendations and technical remediation plans.
  • Align network designs with evolving enterprise standards and compliance requirements.

6. Service Management and Governance

  • Participate in incident, problem, change, and demand management processes.
  • Act as a liaison between the delivery teams and client for escalations and service reviews.
  • Monitor SLAs and recommend process or technology improvements.

Additional Responsibilities

1. Basic Network Security

  • Contribute to the implementation of perimeter security, access control, and encryption mechanisms.
  • Support security teams in configuring firewalls, NAC, and segmentation policies.

2. Data Center Networking

  • Experience in handling spine-leaf architectures, virtual switching, and Layer 3 routing.
  • Familiarity with virtualization, SDN overlays, and high-availability design.

3. Automation and Scripting

  • Implement network automation using Python and Ansible.
  • Develop scripts for configuration, monitoring, reporting, and remediation.
  • Embrace Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to enhance agility and reduce errors.

Certifications (Preferred or Required)

  • CCNP, CCDP, or CCIE
  • Equivalent industry certifications from Cisco, Aruba, or Juniper

Technical and Professional Requirements

Mandatory Skills:

  • Cisco SD Access, Cisco ISE
  • Aruba SD-LAN deployment
  • Enterprise-grade switching and routing technologies
  • Hands-on experience in HLD/LLD documentation
  • Proficiency in network automation tools like Python and Ansible

Additional Technology Experience:

  • Wireless Networks: Aruba and Cisco WLC
  • Network Services: IPAM, NAC, DDI (DNS, DHCP, IP Address Management), NTP server setup
  • Open Networking Concepts and programmable infrastructures

Preferred Skills and Domain Knowledge

  • CISCO technologies (Switching, Routing, Identity Services Engine)
  • Aruba Access Points and Centralized WLAN management
  • SDN/NFV domains: Software Defined Access, Overlay Networks
  • Cisco Certifications: Strong foundational or advanced certifications preferred
