Role Overview: What You Will Do

As a Package Consultant for Oracle Cloud HCM Payroll, you will be a client-facing expert who guides and delivers robust functional implementations across the HCM suite, with a focus on Oracle Cloud Payroll. You’ll play a key role in shaping the HR transformation journey for top-tier clients through the adoption of Oracle Cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to define, architect, and implement Oracle Cloud HCM Payroll solutions tailored to their unique business needs.

  • Drive full lifecycle implementations including requirement gathering, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.

  • Act as a trusted advisor for clients, presenting strategic recommendations for payroll transformation.

  • Ensure solutions align with best practices and compliance standards in payroll processing and reporting.

  • Identify functional gaps and proactively design tailored solutions using Oracle Cloud features.

  • Conduct hands-on configuration of the Payroll module in Oracle HCM Cloud, including HCM Extracts and BI Publisher reports.

  • Participate in solution testing, UAT support, and business user training activities.

  • Document functional specifications, testing outcomes, and implementation plans to ensure traceability and knowledge sharing.

  • Collaborate across internal IBM teams and external client teams using Agile methodologies to deliver outcomes on time and within budget.

  • Continuously improve processes and solutions to increase automation, reduce errors, and optimize business performance.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Educational Background

  • Mandatory: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, or an equivalent discipline.

Technical and Functional Experience

  • A minimum of 4+ full lifecycle implementations in Oracle HCM Cloud, including at least 2 projects with Oracle Cloud Payroll.

  • In-depth functional understanding of Oracle Payroll, HCM Extracts, and BI Publisher.

  • Expertise in analyzing and closing functionality gaps through innovative solutions.

  • Practical experience in Agile implementation methodologies.

  • Certification in Oracle Cloud HCM (preferred).

  • Experience working in a hybrid delivery environment with geographically dispersed teams.

Preferred Skills and Attributes

  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—to effectively articulate ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated leadership in functional solutioning and end-to-end payroll implementation.

  • Ability to work independently, manage timelines, and lead junior consultants in delivering high-quality outcomes.

  • A mindset geared toward continuous improvement and process innovation.

  • Exposure to global payroll regulations and compliance standards (a plus).

  • Ability to quickly learn and adopt emerging technologies within Oracle Cloud ecosystem.
