🚀 Empower Innovation in Next-Generation Hardware with Microsoft
Microsoft is looking for a Senior Device Validation Engineer (DVE) to join its prestigious Windows Silicon & System Integration (WSSI) team within the Windows & Devices (W+D) division. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape the future of integrated hardware-software experiences across the Windows ecosystem.
As a Senior DVE Engineer based in Hyderabad, you’ll play a pivotal role in validating, benchmarking, and optimizing innovative technologies across chipsets, device drivers, and firmware—delivering industry-leading system performance on Windows devices.
💡 About the Team – W+D & WSSI
The Windows & Devices (W+D) division is Microsoft’s powerhouse behind iconic products that blend hardware, software, and services into seamless user experiences. Within this team, the Windows Silicon & System Integration (WSSI) group leads the charge in validating next-gen silicon platforms and collaborating with silicon vendors, OEMs, and OS teams to create best-in-class Windows devices.
You’ll work at the intersection of hardware design, device firmware, and Windows kernel drivers, helping to refine and stabilize the software running on groundbreaking SoCs (System-on-Chips).
💼 Key Responsibilities
As a Senior DVE Engineer, you will be responsible for validating integrated device hardware and software stacks through design prototyping, performance tuning, and testing automation.
🔧 1. Silicon Validation & Feature Enablement
-
Work directly on prototyping new silicon designs and verifying the functionality of hardware features.
-
Validate and debug low-level drivers, firmware components, and hardware interfaces for performance, stability, and compliance.
-
Support SoC bring-up, device driver integration, and power/performance tuning in collaboration with firmware and OS teams.
🧪 2. Test Automation & Quality Assurance
-
Design and develop automated regression test suites using tools and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and C#.
-
Develop and refine test plans, metrics, procedures, and benchmarking methodologies to quantify device performance and quality.
-
Leverage version control and DevOps tools to manage test environments, deployments, and CI/CD pipelines.
🛠️ 3. Cross-Functional Debugging & Engineering Collaboration
-
Work closely with cross-discipline teams across architecture, software, hardware design, and QA to identify, isolate, and resolve systemic issues.
-
Act as a key contributor during engineering release cycles—helping identify, prioritize, and fix release-blocking issues.
-
Translate business and customer requirements into scalable test strategies and implementation plans.
🤝 4. External Partner Coordination
-
Collaborate with external vendors, silicon partners, and third-party service teams to ensure end-to-end validation of drivers and firmware.
-
Guide external test execution teams and validate deliverables to ensure alignment with Microsoft’s quality standards.
