The Lead Administrator – L1 is a pivotal role designed for experienced IT professionals who possess strong architectural, operational, and leadership capabilities. This role involves overseeing complex IT infrastructure components such as platforms, databases, middleware, and backup systems while leading operational excellence and people development within the respective tower.
Role Purpose
The core objective of the Lead Administrator – L1 role is to drive the architectural design, operational stability, and technical evolution of the assigned infrastructure tower. This includes end-to-end management of system performance, planning of upgrades and installations, issue resolution, capacity planning, and team development to ensure smooth IT operations across client and internal ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 1. Architecture Planning and Technology Implementation
This role requires in-depth technical expertise in infrastructure design and system planning. You will lead the creation and deployment of highly scalable, secure, and efficient architecture aligned with business needs.
Key Tasks:

Plan, design, and validate infrastructure setups for platforms, middleware, databases, or backup solutions.

Execute successful migrations and installations for new and existing IT projects.

Perform thorough technology capacity assessments and plan upgrades proactively.

Leverage the latest features of supporting technologies to maximize availability and uptime.

Define and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies ensuring compliance with SLAs and business continuity.
🔹 2. Operations Management and Incident Resolution
The operational health of the tower is a core priority. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that services remain highly available, responsive, and continuously optimized.
Key Tasks:

Manage day-to-day support operations, including incident resolution, RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and performance tuning.

Plan and execute upgrades, patches, migrations, configurations, and installations as per defined schedules.

Identify potential operational risks and implement mitigation strategies before escalation.

Document all operational tasks with updated SOPs, runbooks, data responsibility matrices, and system guidance.

Monitor and report on performance metrics, utilizing automation and technology to drive service improvement plans (SIPs).
🔹 3. Stakeholder Communication and Reporting
You will act as the primary point of contact for project reporting and technical insights within the tower.
Key Tasks:

Submit weekly status reports to internal and client-side leadership outlining project status, incidents, and upcoming changes.

Provide transparency into operations, risks, and performance bottlenecks while suggesting data-driven improvements.

Ensure compliance with Wipro and client governance protocols, change management, and risk documentation.
Team Leadership & People Management
