About the Role

As an Application Developer – Oracle Cloud Middleware, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying Oracle-based integration and data migration solutions. You’ll work within IBM’s Client Innovation Center (CIC), collaborating with cross-functional teams across diverse industries to enable seamless data movement and system integration using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and other cutting-edge middleware technologies.

In this client-facing position, your work will help solve business-critical challenges by building robust, scalable, and secure systems that support performance, interoperability, and business agility.


Key Responsibilities

As part of the Oracle Cloud Middleware team, your primary responsibilities include:

1. Oracle Middleware Development

  • Develop, configure, and implement integration solutions using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12c.

  • Create transformation logic, mapping, and workflows to facilitate data integration between heterogeneous database systems.

  • Write and optimize SQL and PL/SQL scripts to manage data pipelines and transformation processes.

  • Implement solutions aligned with client priorities, ensuring stability, accuracy, and performance across environments.

2. Middleware and API Integration

  • Design and develop robust data pipelines that integrate with Web Services, XML APIs, and other interfaces.

  • Enable bidirectional data transfers between Oracle systems and external platforms (cloud and on-premise).

  • Ensure secure and scalable handling of real-time and batch data loads.

3. Solution Delivery & Deployment

  • Participate in agile development cycles, assisting in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release planning.

  • Build automated deployment pipelines and support release processes.

  • Conduct unit and integration testing of all middleware components before deployment.

4. Client Interaction and Consulting

  • Engage with client stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into middleware architecture.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor, providing guidance on system optimization, risk mitigation, and cost-effective integration strategies.

  • Document system architecture, workflows, and SOPs for internal and client use.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12c in enterprise projects.

  • Proficiency in complex data migration between large-scale, heterogeneous database systems (Oracle is mandatory).

  • Experience with ETL processes, data transformation, and middleware architecture.

  • Understanding of API-based integration, including REST/SOAP, XML, and JSON payload structures.

  • Exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or related platforms.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in a technical or business discipline (preferred)

  • Experience with web service integration and secure API communication

  • Certifications in Oracle Cloud or ODI development are a plus.

  • Familiarity with modern DevOps tools and version control (Git, Jenkins, Maven, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of data integration patterns, ETL performance tuning, and middleware architecture.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical specifications.

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% for client engagements, as per business demands.
