Introduction to the Role
Are you ready to lead sourcing innovation on a global stage? IBM is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sourcing Professional to join its Finance and Operations division. This is a night shift role, strategically positioned to support sourcing operations across the US, EMEA, and APAC regions.
As a Sourcing Professional, you’ll be at the forefront of IBM’s global procurement strategy, ensuring operational efficiency, driving supplier performance, and achieving cost optimization targets.
Role Overview: Sourcing Professional at IBM
As a Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you will serve as a trusted partner across business units, overseeing supplier management, contract governance, and sourcing transformation initiatives. Your ability to blend market intelligence, data analysis, and relationship-building will help IBM deliver high-value sourcing results globally.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Sourcing Leadership

Develop, implement, and evolve strategic sourcing plans in alignment with business goals and cost targets.

Conduct market research and supplier evaluations to identify best-fit vendors for varying procurement needs.

Lead negotiations on pricing, terms, and contracts to secure competitive advantages.

Utilize sourcing levers and category management practices to drive cost reduction and value creation.
2. Supplier Relationship Management

Build and maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers and vendors.

Implement and monitor supplier scorecards to assess performance metrics such as quality, responsiveness, compliance, and delivery.

Address and resolve vendor performance issues through structured improvement plans.

Collaborate on risk mitigation strategies including alternate supplier identification and disruption readiness.
3. Contract Lifecycle Management

Oversee end-to-end contract negotiation, execution, and compliance.

Maintain contract documentation, ensuring clear terms and deliverables are aligned with company policy.

Manage renewals, expirations, and renegotiations of supplier agreements.

Collaborate with internal legal, finance, and procurement teams to ensure seamless contract operations.
4. Cross-Functional Stakeholder Engagement

Act as a sourcing business partner to procurement, operations, finance, and legal teams.

Offer strategic guidance and real-time updates on sourcing activities to business stakeholders.

Lead periodic business reviews and sourcing status meetings.

Provide sourcing KPIs, spend analytics, and cost saving insights in executive dashboards or reports.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline (mandatory).

Demonstrated success in driving cost savings, supplier performance improvements, and sourcing transformation initiatives.

In-depth knowledge of global procurement practices, with hands-on experience across US, APAC, and EMEA regions.
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, or MBA (preferred but not mandatory).

Hands-on experience with supplier management software, contract lifecycle tools, and sourcing analytics platforms.

Exposure to AI-driven procurement platforms or automated sourcing bots.
