L&T’s Heavy Civil Infrastructure (HCI) division invites seasoned and passionate structural engineers to apply for the position of Senior Structural Engineer at our Faridabad project location. Position Overview:
In this critical role, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of steel frameworks, temporary construction structures, and equipment support systems that form the backbone of our construction projects. Your expertise will ensure that all structural elements are meticulously planned and executed, supporting safe, efficient, and cost-effective project delivery.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design and Development of Steel Structures:
- Lead the design of diverse steel structures, including but not limited to temporary sheds, industrial buildings, gantry girders, and pre-engineered buildings (PEB).
- Produce comprehensive fabrication details to ensure seamless assembly and installation on-site.
- Construction Enabling Works:
- Spearhead the design of construction enabling works such as formwork systems, lifting arrangements, muck buckets, and support structures for utilities and equipment.
- Engineer struts and other temporary supports essential for maintaining structural stability and site safety during construction phases.
- Equipment Foundations:
- Design sturdy equipment foundations, meticulously calculating loads and stresses to guarantee operational efficiency and durability.
- Preparation and Documentation:
- Develop, organize, and oversee the complete compilation of design documents, technical reports, and structural calculations.
- Ensure strict compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and submit technical documents for timely approval by the Employer or Project Management Consultant (PMC).
- Vendor Design Review:
- Conduct critical reviews of vendor designs and drawings, assessing their conformity to project specifications, regulatory codes, and industry standards.
- Drafting Coordination:
- Collaborate closely with the drafting team to produce accurate and detailed construction drawings, offering technical guidance and ensuring clarity and precision.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Interface with internal departments, external consultants, vendors, and contractors to resolve design-related challenges and facilitate smooth project progression.
- Design Optimization:
- Propose and implement design optimizations aimed at reducing construction timelines and material costs while upholding design integrity and regulatory compliance.
- On-site Collaboration:
- Work in close coordination with the project execution teams to support timely deployment and construction of enabling works.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Educational Qualification:
- Master’s degree (M.Tech) in Structural Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 8 to 10 years of robust experience in structural analysis and detailed design of steel and reinforced concrete (RCC) structures.
- Technical Skills:
- Profound understanding and application of Indian Standards (IS Codes) for structural design.
- Hands-on experience with structural analysis software, particularly Staad Pro.
- Expertise in steel connection design, ensuring durability and safety in all structural joints.
- Proven ability to conduct detailed engineering and design calculations for complex infrastructure projects.
