Position Overview:
In the role of Project Engineer, you will spearhead engineering initiatives across projects, guaranteeing alignment with project schedules, financial parameters, and established quality benchmarks. You will be instrumental in departmental administration, engineering deliverable tracking, manpower management, and fostering collaboration among multidisciplinary teams. The role also requires maintaining strong relationships with internal departments, clients, and vendors to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Departmental Administration and Management:
- Define and establish operational norms and best practices for departmental activities.
- Monitor and track the productivity and progress of engineering deliverables across all assigned projects.
- Allocate manpower efficiently, optimizing project resources and reviewing manpower utilization.
- Engineering Review and Documentation:
- Review and approve engineering documents, technical reports, and operating manuals.
- Manage and validate the creation and approval process for SAFE charts, Cause and Effect Diagrams, and essential engineering documentation.
- Supervise material tracking, MRIR control, SRNs, and overall material movement to ensure efficient project execution.
- Project Execution and Leadership:
- Lead, guide, and mentor the Process Engineering team and other project team members in executing contractual activities.
- Ensure all deliverables and documents meet quality and compliance standards before issuance.
- Proactively identify potential delays or risks and discuss mitigation strategies with Area Lead Engineers.
- Relationship Management:
- Maintain effective communication and coordination with Job Engineers and discipline Lead Engineers.
- Coordinate closely with clients and vendors to meet project specifications and effectively resolve technical issues.
- Key Result Areas:
- Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of key project documents, including:
- Technical proposals, feasibility studies, and technical study reports.
- Departmental procedures such as design basis documents, interface control procedures, and engineering execution plans.
- DCNs (Design Change Notices), design criteria, basic engineering data, and corrective action plans for design non-conformities.
- Subcontracting plans for design/engineering activities and procurement and construction schedules where applicable.
- Instruction manuals for pre-commissioning and troubleshooting reports.
- Ensure proper and timely project execution within the assigned budget, schedule, and manpower allocation.
- Develop corrective action plans based on non-conformance and audit observations.
- Support cross-discipline teams to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Foster employee development and support continuous growth and upskilling within the department.

Desired Candidate Profile:
- Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
- Experience:
- 15 to 23 years of extensive project engineering experience within the hydrocarbon industry.
- Proven expertise in design and engineering for refinery, petrochemical, gas processing plants, and LNG cryogenic units.
- Strong background in process engineering and design execution.
- Technical Skills:
- Deep knowledge of project engineering workflows, design documentation, and project management.
- Familiarity with hydrocarbon process design, including refinery and LNG plant engineering.
- Proficiency in material tracking, document control, and compliance with engineering standards.
- Behavioral Competencies:
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to guide and mentor engineering teams.
