Position Overview:
As an Electrical Engineer, you will assume the role of a discipline specialist, steering engineering activities, mentoring teams, and ensuring the successful execution of engineering deliverables. You will be responsible for overseeing project activities, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and maintaining adherence to the latest technologies, codes, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership and Expertise:
- Lead electrical engineering activities for oil & gas onshore processing facilities, petroleum refineries, petrochemical plants, chemical complexes, fertilizer units, and LNG & LPG infrastructure projects.
- Provide subject matter expertise on electrical discipline, current technologies, and applicable codes and standards.
- Team Guidance and Mentoring:
- Guide, supervise, and mentor engineering teams to deliver high-quality, technically sound electrical solutions.
- Lead design reviews, energy optimization studies, and EHAZOP (Electrical Hazard and Operability) studies.
- Client and Vendor Coordination:
- Liaise with local and international clients, Project Management Consultants (PMC), and vendors.
- Efficiently communicate and coordinate engineering activities within the project team and across disciplines.
- Engineering Activities and Reviews:
- Oversee substation engineering, field engineering, interface engineering, and site coordination.
- Ensure compliance with national and international standards, as well as oil and gas client specifications.
- Procurement and Vendor Management:
- Handle procurement engineering for Gas Turbine Generators (GTG), Steam Turbine Generators (STG), switchyard packages, and major tagged equipment.
- Review and conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for critical equipment.
- System Studies and Analysis:
- Perform system studies including Short Circuit Analysis, Load Flow, Motor Starting Analysis, Transient Stability, Arc Flash Analysis, Insulation Coordination, EMC, and Relay Coordination.
- Utilize software tools such as DIgSILENT, ETAP, SKM, EDSA, and SPEL for analysis and simulations.
- Field Experience:
- Apply practical field experience gained from working on-site for at least two projects.
- Proposal and Cost Estimation:
- Participate in proposal engineering activities including cost estimation for projects.
- Leadership in Reviews and Studies:
- Independently lead (Chairman role) Design Reviews, EHAZOP, and Energy Optimization sessions for at least one oil and gas project.
- Project Execution and Work Processes:
- Lead and manage the electrical engineering scope for large-scale projects.
- Be thoroughly familiar with the detailed work processes of a consulting engineering company.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Experience:
- 15 to 21 years of extensive experience in electrical engineering within the hydrocarbon, oil and gas, or related industries.
- Hands-on experience in site work for at least two major projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in substation design, field engineering, and interface coordination.
- Deep understanding of international codes and standards related to oil and gas sectors.

- Expertise in relay coordination, arc flash studies, insulation coordination, EMC, and EHAZOP.
