🎯 Role Purpose

The primary responsibility of the Application Architect – L1 is to develop enterprise-wide architectural designs, lead application modernization strategies, and provide thought leadership to delivery teams. This role requires a deep understanding of system integration, design patterns, microservices, cloud ecosystems, and API-led development.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

🔹 1. Strategic Application Architecture

• Develop scalable and reliable enterprise application architectures.

• Manage and standardize application frameworks and assets across business verticals.

• Define and implement microservices-based architectures, ensuring high agility and maintainability.

• Provide architecture solutions for RFPs (Requests for Proposals) and ensure technical excellence in solution design.

• Establish a collaborative architectural framework based on specific client and technology requirements.

• Evaluate technologies, platforms, and integration tools to recommend the best-fit architecture.

• Lead modernization and digital transformation efforts, ensuring applications are future-ready.

🔹 2. Technical Leadership & Delivery Enablement

• Guide the design and development lifecycle across delivery teams with detailed architectural blueprints.

• Review and validate system implementation plans for alignment with enterprise standards.

• Offer technical leadership in planning, migration, modernization, and system upgrades.

• Create reusable patterns, models, and templates to improve delivery efficiency.

• Lead the identification of new revenue streams by exposing internal capabilities as APIs for client consumption.

• Assess risks, performance metrics, and compliance parameters during solution development.

🔹 3. IP Creation and Innovation

• Design reference architectures, best practices, and reusable assets.

• Build intellectual property (IP) in the form of services, templates, and models.

• Transform client-specific solutions into reusable frameworks for enterprise-wide deployment.

• Bring innovation by introducing technologies like IoT, AI/ML, blockchain, automation, and BOTS into application designs.

🔹 4. Cloud Transformation Leadership

• Lead cloud migration and modernization projects in alignment with enterprise strategies.

• Create deployment architectures, integration layers, and interface catalogs.

• Identify dependencies and define vendor management protocols.

• Deliver architectural direction in hybrid, multi-cloud, and containerized environments (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift).

• Align with CI/CD methodologies and DevOps culture for continuous delivery.

🔹 5. Collaboration & Governance

• Work closely with systems analysts, software developers, and enterprise architects.

• Ensure alignment of solutions with Enterprise Architecture governance frameworks.

• Facilitate design reviews and validate conformance to established architecture principles.

• Document system designs using UML, flowcharts, wireframes, and architecture diagrams.
