We are inviting applications for the position of Principal Consultant – SAP Sales and Distributions (SD) at our Bangalore office. This is a senior-level functional consulting role for experienced SAP professionals with a proven ability to manage implementation projects, analyze business requirements, deliver system enhancements, and work collaboratively across business and IT teams.

Role Overview: Principal Consultant – SAP SD
As a Principal Consultant – SAP SD, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of SAP Sales and Distribution implementations, rollouts, upgrades, and support. This role involves requirements gathering, configuration, solution design, testing, documentation, and post-go-live support. You’ll collaborate closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and global clients to ensure the successful deployment and integration of SD functionality within SAP S/4HANA systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. SAP SD Implementation & Support

Lead SAP SD implementation and support projects, focusing on S/4HANA platforms.

Customize and configure SAP SD modules to meet business process needs.

Support the complete project lifecycle—blueprint, realization, testing, go-live, and hypercare.
2. Business Requirement Gathering
-
Conduct deep-dive sessions to understand and analyze complex client requirements.

Document business processes, pain points, and opportunities for optimization.

Map business processes with SAP best practices and suggest product modifications where needed.
3. Configuration & Customization
-
Perform SAP SD module configuration for sales order management, delivery, billing, pricing, and invoicing.

Configure output determination procedures for sales orders, deliveries, and billing documents.

Handle scenarios involving inter-company sales, third-party orders, and consignment.
4. Integration & Troubleshooting
-
Act as a liaison between SAP SD and other functional modules (MM, FI, PP, WM).

Investigate and troubleshoot SAP-related issues, providing sustainable resolutions.

Manage changes, emergency transports, and version control of functional elements.
5. Documentation & Testing

Prepare functional specifications, test cases, and user training materials.

Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).

Document test results, configurations, and business process flows.
6. Client & Stakeholder Communication

Provide high-level consulting services to both new implementation projects and existing support clients.

Collaborate with client-side business users and project teams to ensure alignment and delivery.

Conduct status reviews, demonstrate SAP SD features, and train key users.
7. Strategic Improvement Initiatives

Identify areas of process improvement and propose SAP enhancements or automation.

Support SAP upgrades, rollouts, and patch implementations.

Mentor junior consultants and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the SAP COE (Center of Excellence).
Required Qualifications
Minimum Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business Administration.

Postgraduate qualification in MBA, MCA, or equivalent fields is a plus.
Minimum Experience:

Minimum 7–10 years of SAP SD functional experience, including at least 2 end-to-end S/4HANA implementations.

Strong understanding of SAP SD business processes and technical configurations.
Preferred Skills & Expertise

Output Determination and Smart Forms / Adobe Forms for customer-facing documents.

Expertise in Order-to-Cash (O2C) cycle including order management, delivery processing, billing, credit management, and returns.

Experience with SAP IDocs, RFCs, and integration with third-party systems.

Hands-on knowledge of tools such as Solution Manager, HP ALM, ServiceNow, or JIRA.

Knowledge of project cutover planning, data migration, and post-go-live support activities.
