Role Overview: Lead Consultant – Testing and Automation
We are currently inviting applications for the Lead Consultant role, specializing in Java, Selenium, Appium, API Testing, and Mobile Automation. This role is ideal for a testing professional who is not only technically sound but also passionate about leading teams, mentoring talent, and driving quality across SDLC phases.
You will be responsible for spearheading automation initiatives, setting up test strategies, and ensuring that both functional and non-functional requirements are tested across web and mobile applications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Team Mentoring

Lead a team of test automation engineers and QA professionals.

Guide junior testers, facilitate skill development, and promote a culture of technical excellence.

Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality testing practices across agile sprints.
2. Automation Strategy and Implementation
-
Design and implement robust test automation frameworks using Java, Selenium WebDriver, and Appium.

Develop reusable, scalable test scripts for cross-platform mobile testing on Android and iOS.

Collaborate with development teams to build automation into CI/CD pipelines.
3. API Testing Integration

Perform REST/SOAP API testing using tools like Postman, SoapUI, and Rest Assured.

Validate APIs independently or as part of end-to-end workflow testing.

Ensure integration of API automation within existing frameworks.
4. Quality Assurance and Functional Testing

Create test plans, test cases, and test data based on business and technical requirements.

Conduct regression, smoke, sanity, system integration, and exploratory testing.

Analyze issues, document bugs clearly, and support the development team in root cause analysis.
5. Performance and Load Testing

Identify performance bottlenecks and execute performance tests where required.

Recommend strategies for improving response time, throughput, and resource utilization.
6. DevOps and CI/CD Enablement

Integrate test automation into DevOps pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and Azure DevOps.

Collaborate with DevOps engineers to ensure continuous testing in release cycles.
7. Test Management and Reporting

Use tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or Zephyr for test case management and defect tracking.

Provide regular test execution reports, test metrics, and dashboard updates to stakeholders.

Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects.
8. Process Improvement and Tool Evaluation

Continuously evaluate new tools, frameworks, and technologies in the QA space.

Recommend process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance quality and productivity.

Standardize best practices for mobile and web testing.
Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Experience: 6–10 years of experience in automation testing with leadership responsibilities.
Technical Expertise:

Strong proficiency in Java programming with test automation focus.

Proven experience with Selenium WebDriver for web UI automation.

Hands-on knowledge of Appium for mobile automation across Android and iOS platforms.

Expertise in RESTful API testing, using Postman, Rest Assured, and SoapUI.

Knowledge of testing principles such as test pyramid, shift-left testing, and test-driven development (TDD).
DevOps & Tools:

Proficiency in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or CircleCI.

Experience with version control tools (Git, Bitbucket).

Familiar with test reporting tools and dashboards (e.g., Allure, Extent Reports).
Preferred Skills and Certifications

Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and agile testing lifecycle.

Excellent communication skills—verbal and written—with the ability to present technical information clearly.

Ability to interact with stakeholders at various levels, from developers to business users.

Certification in QA/testing methodologies or technologies (e.g., ISTQB, Certified Selenium Professional) is a plus.
